Obviously, the lettering is De Luxe, but I just love everything about this ad. You can tell that the people at Hohner think an accordion is just about the prettiest thing you can find. And when was the last time you saw a musical instrument advertised in a financial (or really, any but a specialty) magazine?

Maybe you were supposed to buy one for your kids, maybe you were to play it for the enhancement of your own life. But do we have anything analogous to this anymore? Maybe video games, but those are easy compared to the learning of an instrument, even when they’re not completely passive. And yes, I’ve played Rock Band, but it seems to me more like the computer’s training you to hit the button in the correct sequence than like you’re doing anything like playing music. It just feels like we’re only supposed to watch movies or sports, as hobbies, rather than making something. 

Okay, enough ranting. Here’s that lettering a little bigger:
