Decorative Death

Decorative Death

Note: when your ad contains actuarial tables predicting the deaths of your audience, make sure you decorate the shit out of it!

Lovely engraving, and even though there’s not a lot to grab your attention typographically, again (I know I keep saying this, but whatever), the sheer feel of excellently spaced headlines and body copy is a real pleasure. The funny thing is, to replicate something like this takes probably nearly as much time on the computer as it did by hand. The benefit is you can make mistakes. But the labor is pretty much the same.
